Had the pleasure of having work done by Mike and his crew. They did a fantastic job and Mike was extremely professional and helpful. Once they finished, Mike sent videos and pictures of the entire house and also completed a second clear coating layer as he wasn't 100% happy with the first coat, even though it was not included in the price. Don't bother looking for another epoxy company as you won't find better than Mike.

Polished Concrete Floors With Nothing on Top to Wear Off
Polished concrete isn't a coating. The slab itself is ground through progressively finer diamonds, hardened with a densifier and burnished until it shines. There's no film to scratch, peel or reseal, which is why big-box stores, showrooms and distribution centres run on it. It's bright, low maintenance and lasts as long as the concrete does.
- No coating to peel, scratch or reseal
- Matte, satin or high-gloss finish levels
- Lowest maintenance floor we install
How Polished Concrete Is Made
It's a multi-step grind. Coarse metal-bond diamonds flatten the slab and remove old coatings and imperfections. Cracks and chips are filled. A densifier is applied and soaks in, reacting with the concrete to harden the surface. Then finer resin-bond diamonds take it up through the grits, and a final burnish brings out the shine. A penetrating stain guard goes on last to help it shed spills.
How far we take the grits sets the finish: stop early for a matte, natural look, keep going for a satin or a mirror-level gloss. The amount of aggregate exposed is a choice too, from a cream finish that shows almost none to a salt-and-pepper or full-aggregate look.
- Coarse grind to flatten and remove old coatings
- Crack and chip fill
- Densifier to harden the surface
- Progressive honing through finer grits
- Burnish to the chosen sheen
- Penetrating stain guard
Finish Levels and Aggregate Exposure
Three decisions shape the look. Sheen: matte, satin or high gloss. Aggregate exposure: cream (surface only, smooth and uniform), salt-and-pepper (a light grind that shows fine sand) or full aggregate (a deeper grind that reveals the stone). And colour: the natural grey of the slab, or a penetrating dye applied before the final grits for an even tone. We bring photos and, where possible, do a test patch so you can see what your slab will give.
Polished Concrete or a Coating?
Polished concrete wins on maintenance and lifespan: nothing on top, so nothing wears off. It needs a slab that's in reasonable shape, since the finish is the concrete itself and every patch, crack and old repair will show as part of the look. It also doesn't offer chemical resistance the way epoxy and quartz do, so it's not the pick for a kitchen, a wash bay or a shop that sees oil and chemicals.
Choose polishing for showrooms, retail, offices, restaurant dining rooms, distribution aisles and warehouses. Choose a coating for garages, wet areas, chemical exposure or a slab that needs its repairs hidden.

What Customers Say About Working With Mike
Spoke with Mike regarding our garage floor and the need to have it completed prior to company arrival. He said one way or another it would be completed and offered a tentative date. The week before, he called to advise they had a reschedule and offered to do ours a week early. Bonus! He arrived the next morning and dug right in. The following morning the final top coat was applied and the job completed. So very pleased with not only the response but the final result. Can't imagine a better job, so thank you one and all!
This company I had a wonderful experience with. They came to our home and explained how the process works, arrived when they said they would, performed the job well and left with a wonderful new basement floor, all cleaned up as professionals should do. Very pleased with the end result. Now for me to install the new trim come this fall. Highly recommend this company.
Great job finishing our basement floor! In and out in a day and a half and we love the look and feel of our basement floor. We highly recommend Be Flooring You to finish cement floors!
