Had the pleasure of having work done by Mike and his crew. They did a fantastic job and Mike was extremely professional and helpful. Once they finished, Mike sent videos and pictures of the entire house and also completed a second clear coating layer as he wasn't 100% happy with the first coat, even though it was not included in the price. Don't bother looking for another epoxy company as you won't find better than Mike.

Outdoor Concrete Coatings for Patios, Porches and Pool Decks
Bare concrete outside takes the worst of an Ontario year: freeze-thaw, de-icer, pool chemicals and full sun. A polyaspartic flake or quartz system seals the slab, adds grip that works when it's wet and won't yellow in the sun. Patios, front steps, porches, pool surrounds and walkways.

What an Outdoor Coating Includes
Outdoor concrete gets the same diamond grinding and repair as a garage, with more attention to drainage and moisture. Spalled edges and pitting are patched, cracks are filled, and we check that water runs off the slab rather than sitting on it. Then a polyaspartic base, a flake or quartz broadcast for texture, and a UV-stable polyaspartic top coat.
The finish is sealed against water, so freeze-thaw can't work its way into the surface the way it does on bare concrete.

Why Not Plain Epoxy Outside?
Epoxy is a great base coat indoors, but it yellows and chalks in direct sun and cures too slowly to trust to outdoor weather. For patios, porches and pool decks we use polyaspartic through the whole system: it's UV stable, cures fast enough to work around a forecast, and stays flexible through temperature swings.
Flake or Quartz for Outdoors?
Flake gives a warm, stone-like look with good grip, and it's the usual pick for porches, patios and walkways. Quartz is grittier and tougher underfoot, so it's the better choice for pool decks, wet steps and anywhere bare feet meet water. Both come in colours that suit brick, siding and landscaping.
Concrete Only
These systems bond to concrete. If your deck or porch is wood or composite, a coating isn't the right product and we'll tell you so at the quote. Old concrete that's badly heaved or crumbling may need replacing first; sound concrete with surface damage is usually a good candidate.

Four Steps to a New Floor

We measure, inspect your concrete and bring samples so you can see the finish in your own light.

Surface prep and repair
Cracks, pitting and old coatings are fixed, then the slab is diamond ground so the coating bonds for good.

Coating and top coat
Your chosen system goes down, followed by a polyaspartic top coat for UV and chemical protection. We inspect the whole floor before we leave.
